Branding A Senior

What has been your experience with photographers in the past?  Elise Smith explained it this way.

“Whenever I’ve asked for my picture to be taken, I talk to the photographer on the phone, and she will recommend a couple of clothing thoughts and a location. I meet her at the location and she does her thing: create beautiful pictures. And they are beautiful. But they didn’t represent me or my emotions. They didn’t have MY goal in mind. She didn’t take time to get to know me, so she didn’t really capture me. In working with Jennifer, I have pictures that convey the emotions that show who I am and what I’m about. I have pictures of ME, not just pretty pictures.”

Hunter 3574 4x6This type of “call-it-in” photography is not that much fun for either of us. And with Seniors, I want to have fun. I want to know who you are, so that I can capture images that best represent you at this time in your life. Knowing you is how we have fun together.

So why a branding photographer? A Branding Photographer has spent time learning to capture thoughts and feelings through body language and facial expression. We work together to craft images that show you doing what you love and why you love it. I try to learn who are you and then capture that on camera. I take the time to both perfect the shot AND ensure that it conveys a message. And for right now, with your Senior photography…

the message is you.

Lexi 8293Before your session, we’ll have a brief phone consultation and I’ll ask you a few questions to get to know you, such as:

  • What was your favorite high school experience? What props do you have that we might include in your session that would connect to that experience?
  • What are your plans after high school? Why are they important to you?
  • Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

With some of this information, we’ll talk about your favorite outfits that show who you are and a location that is special and important to you. All of this comes from working with a Branding Photographer. Knowing (and being able to laugh with) your photographer is part of having amazing images that mean something to you for a long time, so I want to know you right now, right where you are, and help you and your family celebrate that.
