Granite Refugee Family Day

Granite School District schools teach 80% of the refugee children in Utah in their schools. Knowing that they help children when they help families, they do all they can to assist in many, many ways.

They set up a Refugee Support Center and charitable arm (Utah Refugee Connection) to collect donations to assist refugees. Their app, ServeRefugees, helps us know what they’re collecting. More than a month ago, they began collecting backpacks with school supplies. Many around me helped and though it was “late” I was able to take 3 more backpacks to them so they could give them to the school children.

These happy faces show the results of so many efforts…and these…

And don’t forget these sweet faces…

Then as a part of receiving backpacks, families are offered services such as medical and dental screenings, and classes for parents who need to learn English.

Afterward, everyone heads out to the yard for pizza, snow cones, and carnival games.

An amazing event!!
