On July 15, 2017, I volunteered as a photographer for World Refugee Day at Liberty Park in SLC, Utah. It was super hot and I got there at 2pm with a bottle of cold water in my camera bag and my 35mm on my camera. The cutie in the featured photo (above) was the first picture I took (after asking her Mom, of course!). I took a picture of Mom and sister too, but sister wouldn’t look up at the crazy lady with the camera!
Next I wandered toward the kids area and found that the most popular “food” place was the Free Snow Cones.
These sweet twins walked by me with their snow cones and I asked if I could take their picture, but where was their Mom so I could ask her permission? Not here, but they grabbed my hand and took me around to see the sights.
When we found Mom, we found little sister too.
World Refugee Day has amazing food cooked by these beautiful people among others…
And an awesome soccer game to watch…
And even beauty queens mingling with us!
Thanks for inviting me World Refugee Day!
